What You Need for Weight Loss

A large percentage of Americans want to lose weight. Why don’t they? Most of them don’t have everything that they actually need to truly lose weight.

Here are some of the things that you have to have for weight loss:

- A good diet. First and foremost, you need a nutritious diet plan that is going to work for you over a long period of time.

- Exercise that you enjoy. You won’t stick with an exercise plan if you aren’t enjoying it so you need to work to find some type of activity that you truly like to do.

- A positive attitude. Those people who are optimistic about weight loss are more likely to experience success.

- Weight loss goals. People who fail to set goals for weight loss will give up on losing weight because they don’t really know what they’re trying to achieve.

- Will power. The single biggest reason that people fail at losing weight is because they lack the will power to stick with their diet and exercise plans in order to meet their weight loss goals.

These five things are really the only things that you need in order to be successful at losing weight. Do you have them?

I love the power of finding good exercise! I’m so not a gym bunny, but I love being out on the water and kayaking; it doesn’t feel like a workout to me and it’s the most relaxing part of my day, but I still feel the burn!

I think the toughest part is the will power, mostly because when I’m on a diet it tends to be because other people want me to lose weight and I’m not the one initiating it.

I think it’s hard to find a diet that really flexes with your lifestyle. Everything is so harsh and restrictive it doesn’t allow room for your tastebuds to shift or to satisfy cravings.

I’ve never seen the hard part about dieting, so maybe I have a lot of will power. When I need to do it, I just do, and when I’m at my goal weight, I stop. Simple as that.

Psychologically speaking, the more often you can visualize your success the more likely you are to achieve it, so be ridiculously optimistic to the point that you can really see, feel, and taste it, and you’ll be successful!

Goals will shoot you in the foot. Opt instead for a feeling, like feeling more active or feeling healthy instead of a number. Achievements are not success, people!

Great post! People need all the help and support they can get while dieting so thank you for contributing to that support system across the web!
