The more that we complain the more likely it is that we’re going to be unhealthy. Simply approaching life with a negative attitude can significantly impact the amount of stress that we feel. Increased stress increases many different health problems. A simple way to start feeling healthier is to quit complaining.
Work is a good place to start since most of us complain about our jobs. Next time that you catch yourself griping, change your attitude around out loud. If your boss tells you that it’s time to go do your annual loan officer training, refrain from saying that you hate those classes. Instead, focus your attitude on what’s good about getting this mortgage education. Smile and say what you’re looking forward to about it. Eventually, your mood will turn around.
These small efforts will add up over time. You will begin to actually feel happier and less stressed out once you start regularly saying positive things. This, in turn, will lead you into living a healthier life. You may still experience some health problems but they’ll be fewer and less damaging to your daily life than they would be if they were exacerbated by the stress of constant discontent.

A large percentage of Americans want to lose weight. Why don’t they? Most of them don’t have everything that they actually need to truly lose weight.
Here are some of the things that you have to have for weight loss:
- A good diet. First and foremost, you need a nutritious diet plan that is going to work for you over a long period of time.
- Exercise that you enjoy. You won’t stick with an exercise plan if you aren’t enjoying it so you need to work to find some type of activity that you truly like to do.
- A positive attitude. Those people who are optimistic about weight loss are more likely to experience success.
- Weight loss goals. People who fail to set goals for weight loss will give up on losing weight because they don’t really know what they’re trying to achieve.
- Will power. The single biggest reason that people fail at losing weight is because they lack the will power to stick with their diet and exercise plans in order to meet their weight loss goals.
These five things are really the only things that you need in order to be successful at losing weight. Do you have them?

When I was going through college, I got a job for the summer selling pride lift chairs. This may seem like an odd job for a young adult to have, but it was actually perfect for me. One of the things that made me an excellent candidate for the job is the many years of experience I had with these chairs. We have had one in our home for as long as I can remember. You see, my father suffered from Friedreich’s Ataxia, a disease that left him crippled in his teens.
When I was a teenager myself, the disease got the best of him, but he had lived a good life and left a great legacy. Not long after he passed away, however, we found out that my sister also had this crippling disease. It was a hard blow on the family, but she was a real trooper and even made jokes about how great it was that we already had the ramps, lifts and the walk-in bath.
Through my three summers of working for the lift company, it was quite rewarding seeing how happy people were to have their lifts installed. I know it gives them a sense of freedom. My sister is now completely confined to a wheelchair, but because of the lifts and because of her attitude, she does not let it slow her down. She can be found on a Friday night with her friends at the movies, visiting me at my apartment or shopping at the mall. Freedom is the one thing that can keep these people going and I was glad to have a small part in that.
