Consulting for Document Imaging Companies

Posted by special buzzer on April 28, 2009

After I sold of my restaurant two years ago, I took a break.  You see, I had been living and breathing the restaurant business for just about ten years and it was time that I took some time for myself.  It was the best thing for me to do, and I enjoyed spending time with my family for a change.

But, being the hard worker that I was, I couldn’t just stay in retirement - I really needed to do something.

One of my best friends had been doing some consulting work for document imaging companies for about five years, and he suggested that I check out what the opportunity involved as he thought that it would be a good fit for me.

I talked with his boss, and in no time, I had become an independent document management software vendor.  It helped that I was a little obsessed with technology, and I picked up how things worked really quickly.

Needless to say, I love the freedom of being my own boss, but at the same time, I like the security of working for a larger company.  I don’t have to commit my entire life to the business anymore (like the restaurant), and I can spend more time with my family while I continue to provide for them.

Besides, in just a couple more years, it will be time to retire and try something different.

Getting Prepared

Posted by Buzz on April 22, 2009

I am desperately looking for pregnancy maternity clothes that have a cute line of outfits so I can replace the maternity top that I ripped this weekend. My husband and I have been working hard on a lot of different projects around the house and have been hammering, drilling, painting and staining all the different wood floors and banisters that we have that need finishing. I am not too sure when it happened but I must have snagged my shoulder on some part of the walls or banisters that we had been sanding and ripped my favorite shirt.

Even though it cost me one of my best shirts, I am really happy about the improvements of the house. We want to get all of this boring house stuff done before the baby comes so that once she is here we can just spend all of our time showering her with our doting parental affection and spoiling her rotten with cuddles and play time and reading stories and all that fun stuff that comes with being a parent. We do not want to have to be worrying about sandblasting the walls so we can put on a new coat of paint then.

Trying to Make a Neat Night time Parade For the Holidays

Posted by special buzzer on April 21, 2009

Hey, I’m looking for some really good battery operated lights.  The kind I want is like the little twinkle lights you use on your tree.  I’m looking for some good sets to use in a night time parade, and the only kind I know of just kind of burns through batteries quickly.  But those were sort of like little seed lights, and I’m hoping I can find a set that will last a good few hours, at least.

The type of parade I mean is sort of like the Parade of Lights that they do in Denver.  This is where all kinds of community groups like marching bands or tumblers or even small vehicles…AND small animals…have lights put onto them so they can really make a showing in the darkness.  I’d also be interested in a type of rope light that might also run on batteries.  Do they make such a thing?

And while I’m on the subject, you know those pre-lit Christmas trees?  Wouldn’t it also be nice if they made those to run on batteries?  Then you wouldn’t have to run yards of extension cord if you have a big yard.  I’m an idea man, and this is just a thought.
